Artist
Lulu Boyd, potter and photographer, was born and raised in
Texas. She has worked with photography for over 25 years and
began her dabbling in mud while working on her degree in
college. She needed to create 20 pieces of pottery in order to
obtain an "A" and produced well over 100 pieces in one semester.
Needless to say, she found another facet of her creative side.
She believes with most artists, it is not really a far reach for
an artist to be creative in more than one medium. Lulu has been
fortunate enough to study in the Pueblos in New Mexico with
native Indian descendants of Maria Martinez. Mrs. Ortiz's
great-granddaughters hold intensive workshops working with hand
building techniques and firing under a pile of tin and dried cow
patties. She has also studied at
Sierra Nevada College in Lake Tahoe
under several well known potters (i.e. Randy Brodnax and Don
Ellis).
Recent studies in Photography were
under the direction of
Lara Blair
of Vancouver, WA, a renowned
photographer throughout the United States.
A new passion has been rekindled in
Photography as Mrs. Boyd is working to open her Wild Horse Depot
Studio in the coming month. She specializes in senior, children
and family portraits. Please phone her at 325-728-0751 or
EMAIL to schedule an appointment!
